Hi, I just got the Ridgid 13" planer and would like to know if anyone has either purchased a mobile base for it or installed casters on the stand. If so, has it affected the performance. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm not using the stand that came with mine. I reinforced an older wooden microwave cart and use the planer on that. No problems with this setup.

I did something similar....reinforced a small PC cart and beefed up the castors.
I've seen others use the splayed leg stands that come with the planers, then add an adjustable mobile base.

If you can find a Herc-U-Lift they work great on the stand that came with it. I have one on mine.

I just made a wood base with splayed legs. My floor is concrete with a clear epoxy coating over it so it slides around pretty easily.
