First and foremost, as stated in other threads, Ridgid needs to make a radio. Something that competes with the Likes of Bosch's Power Box. I own a first generation 18V set that I am more than happy with, but where is my radio? Honestly, I am so tempted to just go buy the Bosch one. Every other major cordless power tool manufacturer has a radio, yet Ridgid still doesn't? What gives? Heck they could 3rd party the darn thing out and get any number of companies (i.e. Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer etc.) to make it. I'm a residential plumber and there are many of times that I don't have access to a power outlet for my radio. I really want to buy a Ridgid radio to match my set but unless they come out with a HIGH QUALITY ONE, I think I'll soon be looking elsewhere.
I would also like to see a Cordless Wet/Dry vac. It is optimal for any service work I do. It's also just a great way to easily and conveniently keep my work area clean. DeWalt has one, heck Ryobi has 2 of them! Ridgid can't even offer one?
Another tool I would like to see offered is a cordless flood light. Not one of those glorified flashlights, I mean an actual decent sized floodlight that will offer me enough light to work in a relatively large unlit space. (i.e a basement with no power) With all the advancements in LED lighting I can't see this as being that much of a problem, especially with the new Li-Ion batteries.
One last suggestion I'd like to make is the offering of a "right angle" drill for those tight spots (i.e. joists) Again Milwaukeee and even Ryobi offer one. Ridgid again is nowhere to be seen.
Ridgid is supposed to be one of the top dogs in cordless tools yet they offer less flexibility than all of their competitors. I'd really like to see Ridgid start putting out some more cordless tools on the market. If they don't than I really am going to consider selling my Ridgid set and going with a lineup of cordless tools from a different manufacturer.
