One thing I have yet to figure out,
Why Table saw manufactures don't offer or just make the wing or wings of the table saw, with a pre cut hole, and a set of counter set holes for at least fastening a sub plate to that would then mount to the customers router,
that way one could use the table saw fence as the router fence, (the fence may have to altered as well or have an attachment or auxiliary fence on it for cuts that need the router bit behind the fence), but even offering the auxiliary fence that would securely fasten to the current fence would be an option, (Ridgid has the T slotted fence all ready)
My first thoughts were to use the right side and then Auxulary fence could be a permanent or nearly permanent part of the fence. (But in RIdgid instance they would have to offer or make it standard equipment, an extra large table to clear the saws rip fence supports), which would make a better saw any way IMO,
A kit could be offered that would include the sub mounting plate, of choice or a generic one that could mount up many routers, or a blank for making your own, the auxiliary fence attachment, or (separate split fence, as an option).
A separate split fence assembly similar to many router or shaper tables out there, that would fit a pre threaded a couple of holes in the table and it would be such that repeat accuracy would be good, (in other words a removable adjustable fence that could be set, and then easily removed, for sawing and yet when reattached to table it would remain at the previous set up).
First I think it would be a blessing for some one with a small shop, small spaces,
Two the job site person has extend features, without more haul along equipment,
Three a very low cost (for the manufacture and the customer), incentive to
buy that saw, as the basic kit could just be offered with the cost of the saw, about the only items added would be the sub plate, and a plastic auxiliary fence, or could be a very low cost addition, as the wing should be a standard accessory, (yes the wing would need a new design).
Because if you get carried away with the cost of the kit, you many as well go and buy a separate router table unit, IMO
