east coast vs west coast

why do west coast framers prefer worm drive saws, as to east coasts side winders?

what other tools are perfered (i.e. hammers) and where is the line drawn at?

I would say because east coast plumbers like to use the stronger machine an get the job done right. The only time I would see the drum machine as being used for myself would be inside a bathroom going through toilet location. But I still get that done with my sectional machine, Next.

I used to work in northern Virginia and used a Spartan drum machine (can't remember the model) to clear main stoppages. I loved it but it was a beast to move around by myself with 125' of cable.:mad: Luckily most houses there had a cleanout in the front yard and I would just run it from the truck.:cool: Now all my work is in Wash DC. mostly 100+ yr. old houses in Georgetown and Capital Hill. No cleanouts anywhere (unless you consider a running trap one). Most basement bathrooms have a 24" door opening:eek: Stuck using a 15 year old k-1500 w/sectional cables that spent half it's life in the shop being repaired. I hate that thing with passion what are my options??? Do they make a mid-size drum machine??
