JP0610 Questions

I have finished putting my new jointer together and have a couple of questions. After running it for about 10 min. I noticed a faint smell of burning rubber.Taking off the pulley guard and rechecking the pulley alignment, they are off about 1/8" and they were very hot. Is 1/8" close enough and should the pulleys get hot or is this something that will work itself in? Thanks

Even under normal conditions, with the pulleys in perfect alignment, the pulleys will still get warm to the touch. In your case an 1/8" would be enough to cause a little excess heat and give you a slight rubber smell. Just realign the pulleys are you should be good.
