Last year I had a exposed aggregate driveway installed and sealed. Up til now no problems then my bother-in-law comes over to watch the cats while I'm on vacation. He has been told not to park his old Jeep on my driveway but I know he did from the numerous oils stains left behind. I tried several dishwashing soaps, Trisodium Phosphate and pressure washing and I can still see the stains.

I'm so angry I might cry. :o

Is there some miracle stain remover?

It's about time to reseal what product do I use?

Goop.

Cover it with plastic so it doesn't dry up, let it soak overnight, then scrub it off with soapy water and a brush.

I've had tenants whom I suspect changed their oil without using a pan.

This might help but I doubt it will be perfect.

Try to get a few spray cans of CRC brand engine cleaner from a good auto parts store. Squirt the oil stains and let it soak in about 1/2 hour. Then if yo can try a hot water pressure washer or better yet low pressure steam. Finally rinse well with cold water (flood it) from a garden hose. This has helped me but so far I have yet to find a real cure. Maybe someone on here knows of one.

Goop? never heard of it. Home Depot sells it?

I have some Goo-Be-Gone is that the same?

Works great on your clothes, too.

If you check in Lowes or HD where they have the blacktop sealer and crack filler you should find some cleaner that is meant to be used prior to sealing on just these type of stains.

Clean oil spots and remove old sealer with EUCO Clean and Strip (http://www.euclidchemical.com/product_detail.asp?id=183&pselect=59&cselect=54#3)

Seal with Euclid Everclear (http://www.euclidchemical.com/product_detail.asp?id=350&pselect=6&cselect=29#1)

You will need to get these at a concrete supply house, not cheap but worth
every penny.

On the cheap, try muriatic acid, no suggestions for a cheaper sealer. BTW muriatic acid is a dangerous chemical, read label and be careful (chemical goggles and respirator)

Goop and waterless Go-Jo are similar. Both work well for getting stains out of clothing.

TRY some floor dry, (clay based oil abortion, similar to cat litter) I use on the shop floor all the time and my son can make a real mess with oil, when he is working on a engine or transmission, and if left on the oil for a few days, and let ti get ground up good it some how pulls the oil up out of the concrete,
he has dumped 6 quarts of oil at a time (diesel engine oil and it is black) and I don't have stains from oil where I have the floor dry put down and left on for a few days to a week or so, (usually I jsut keep it sweep up in a pile and use it until it no longer is usable),

the finer it gets ground up the better it absorbs stuff,

any auto parts store should have a bag.

the two URLs are jsut for illustration purpose, I have used the second product, used NAPA's and others, there all the same product that I have found.

Can't reccomend a sealer, but to get rid of the stains you need oil dry (clay kitty litter) and mineral spirits. pour mineral spirits on the stains and scrub in good with a broom. Spread the oil dry out and scrub it in with your feet. Grind the clay in good. Sweep it up and the stains are gone. been doing it that way for 20 years and no stains on my drive.:D
