What did you guys do over the weekend? I had a nice time. Didn't have any work, so relaxed myself at home, lazed around, watched tv and ate all my favourite food.

I had a great weekend that flew by quick. Went golfing saturday morning then got to watch golf on tv for a few hrs. Had an early surprise part for my upcomming birthday saturday night.

Ridge Tool Picknic on Sunday... My paintball team made it through the first round then got slaughtered by last years champs. Then we just played with the babies for the rest of Sunday and here I am.

Went to the fair and entertained at a local campground. As a reward for performing I got to drive family around the campground in a electric honda golf cart.

Saturday I went to town and bought 6000 pounds of ground corn in the old 53 ford truck and then set up the auger and auger-ed it into the feed shed,
(and when I went to the grocery store I saw a funeral notice that a former neighbor had passed on, and the funeral is this morning, (Monday)).
after unloading the feed grain, then went out and fixed fence.

yesterday we went to church and in the after noon I went out and put salt in the corral for the cattle and moved the pasture pickup truck so I could come up behind them and shut them in the corral, need to catch two of them here soon.

and since the mower was on the tractor I was using with the loader to move the salt blocks, I mowed a little and I could not remember if I shut one gate, so I walked out in the pasture to check that, (it was shut) walked back to the house then milked the goats in the evening, (some times after doing something for hundreds of times you don't remember, if your thinking about it when you do it)

and on Friday it was a nice day as well, my son came out and we rebuilt a automatic transmission, my son in law was out for a few hrs, and he fixed a tire on his van, and the grand kids were here, and daughter was as well, (she had stayed over night actual from the day before, she came to use the extra milk up into to cheese, and it is always fun to have the grand kids around,

even the neighbor stopped by on friday and had a nice chat. could not find any thing to help him out, (need a special splines piece for a steering gear for a old tractor),

Like I said it was nice weekend,

a nice pleasant weekend,

Saturday, was up at 5am to play in the Trentonian Softball Tourny...2nd biggest softball tourny in the US. We lost both games of course, so i was home by 1. Had my sons baseball picnice..Between the both of them, they recieved 5 trophies :) My oldest son got a 1st place trophy for his team that went undefeated, 1st place in the homerun derby, and the league MVP award...my other son got tball trophies....Ordered a shed, waiting for that to come today....painted my living room, got new furniture, redid the living room...Sunday, mowed the lawn, then relaxed my ever aching body from playing softball the day before :)

Saturday: Helped a buddie install a boiler and indirect fired heater. Came home to find teenagers on my back deck having a party. My nephew is off to Virginia Tech this week and the wife wanted to throw a sendoff.

Sunday: Laid around. Watched some golf. Took 2 naps. Spied a few good things on Ebay but yet again Rick beat me to them.

I took the boys to an indoor carnival/game place on Saturday ($$$$).

Then me and the boys went fishing all day Sunday and had a shoreline picnic. Also there was absolutely no bickering and fighting amongst them, which made it a very splendid weekend.. The fishing was actually decent too, I may add...

Saturday;
Went to the Japanese embassy to get the baby's passport, had a nice lunch then went to Ontario. Stopped in at Rockler, picked up a bunch of stuff, then the wife saw me and made me put most of it back down (party pooper).
Sunday;
Cleaned up the garage/woodshop while watching the race. Looked around at my nice and tidy work area, decided that it looked "un-natural" so decided to mess it up again by making version 4 of my router table fence.

Spent time with the wife and boy.
+Got some woodworking goodies (a few anyway).
+Made some sawdust.

Saturday 14 scoots left Avon Lake (20 miles west of Cleveland) and rode along the shore of Lake Erie to Marblehead. We stopped in Vermilion and Sandusky along the way.

All in all, the ride was 120 miles. Lunch was in Marblehead, followed by wandering around the shops and the lighthouse.

In Sandusky, we stopped at Toft's for some great ice cream, and then returned to Vermilion and finally finished at Avon Lake.

It was a fun ride with perfect weather. More photos can be seen here (http://smorris.smugmug.com/gallery/3293082)

What do you find in a country fair? Any products that you can buy or is it some sort of a cultural fest?

Josh
08-28-2007, 08:30 AM
Count fair is mostly junk food, looking at livestock, country music (diamond Rio and Leanne Rimes this year), Tractor Pull, Demolition Derby, arts and crafts. Very little to buy unless your buying rabits or chickens at the end of the fair  Its like a farmers festival.

I haven't been to a county fair in years and years!
Brings back great childhood memories of saying to others how stupid the fair is, but did we EVER miss a single day? NO! Nothing tastes quite like a fair corndog or the Lions Club hamburgers. 11 years old and cruising for chicks (not the bird!:D) and not having a clue as to what to do if I ever actually caught one! Kinda like the dog that chases cars.

Wisconsin has my favorite state fair ever! Amazing cream puffs and pulled pork sandwiches with sweet baby ray's bbq sauce.

Our Los Angeles one has lots of jacuzzi's, and little knick knacks to buy. Lots of homemade products, like wood carvings/engravings while you wait.

the red calf is a new born not even dry yet from birth, and standing less then 15 min from being born,

Baby animals are so cute...

I'm melting in here at 9-20 am...wondering if i shoud run the ac or go to costco to buy a very good fan..with eletricity so high fan wouldnt be such a bad idea..

Don't know about this weekend..rob went on the call for a water heater..

I'm studying again and again..:)

Charlie looks sad and exausted..not use to have a collar..funny at the same time cause he bumps into everything..

Maybe rent movies later at the day and stay cool at home..

What about you guys?

His parents were married on Mother's Day

His father was born on 7/4/76 so he was our bicentineal baby

His mother was born on 9/11 so we try to not remember that part as it was a sad day

One sister was born on Halloween and the other sister was born on Thanksgiving (different years :D )

The youngest brother was born on Dec. 10th so he is left out.

The really odd birthday thing though is my son-in-law Larry and my daughter-in-law Jeanna were born on the same day and the same year.
