What size inverter do I need?

I have two dual port Ridgid battery chargers that I want to have plugged in to an inverter. Each batter is listed as 2.5Ah and I was wondering what kind of draw this would have regarding wattage. What size inverter do you suggest? I realize that I will need a true/pure sine inverter......however, I am not sure on the size. Please advise and thanks in advance!

Actually they work fine on modified sine wave inverters. Each charger can draw 240W (listed on back of charger). I would give myself some room and and go for a 750 to 1000 W inverter. I have a Xantrex Prowatt 1000 (http://www.xantrex.com/web/id/15/p/1/pt/10/product.asp)

Being in the USA like me you may have better luck finding one of these 2 models. Both require hard wiring. They draw too much current to run through a lighter socket when under load.

If you only want to run the 2 chargers the second one is overkill but if you may want to run other things it might be a good investment.

Lowes carries a 750W inverter. Fairly cheap. Works well. I use it for charging my cordless batteries. I also have two of the dual chargers, but the only times I've had the need to charge 4 batteries at once is when I forget to charge them earlier.
