Approx. a four year project start to finish. There was a "dead" time due to owner money problems, but it got worked out.

I will take some pics of a couple more current projects we are working on in a few days.

I just looked at a Supply air plenum we are building in my fabrication shop and its about the size of my apartment in college.

Big stuff going in this one.

Thanks for the compliment, but its not my work, it's my guys. I am just a engineer, not a plumbing/hvac craftsman.

Bob, that is some good work. How big was the unit? What kind of building was it? I've done duct but never that big. Bob, you guys should be very proud of designing and installing that system.

To be honest, We have a literal ton of ridgid tools, none of them are powered except the threaders.

We outfit our trucks/teams (got over 120 trucks in the field now with minimum 2 men in it) with ridgid cutters, threaders, vises, tripod stand vises etc. but as far as power tools go, it's the following:

Milwaukee corded tools (hammer drills, recripocating saws (corded and cordless) band saws (port-a-band) etc.)

Most all of our guys have gone to the makita 14.4 volt cordless impact drivers. We will buy what they want, but they did a 180 on us and asked to go to makita and lower voltage. Lazy guys probalby wanted to cut down on weight:D

Anyway, I will get you some pics of some big stuff. God knows I have a lot of it going on right now.

I may have some pics of some pumps that arrived yesterday on my camera. The big one has a 200 horsepower motor on it.:eek::eek:

Thats decent sized duct for us, but we do a lot bigger. I did the Nissan manufacturing facility in Canton, MS a few years ago. I did the design/engineering from my home as a subcontractor at the time and it took me 15 months to produce the contract documents(drawings); ITs big)

I actually had duct diameters in double walled spiral up to 104" that fit between the V'S of the trusses, if thats a indication of how damn big the bar joists were.

Great job for me, not bragging, but I worked those 15 months and damn near paid off a $200,000 mortgage(above normal mothly expenses and taxes). (thats a small mansion here compared to what I think you guys on the west coast pay for housing.)

On a sad note, I darn near lost my wife over it, :(Not kidding. I was working 7 days a week and would grab a few hours sleep every other day and was pretty much a jerk to my wife for over a year. Looking back , the money was not worth it.

Sorry to ramble on guys, its late and I am still at work looking at a bid that will top 8 million mechanical contract alone and I dont have the manpower to do the damn work I already got.

That's for sure, sometimes the money's not always worth it.

I wish your company was closer to me cause I would jump all over that opportunity.

Company Name is J.L. Roberts Mechanical. family owned and operated since its inception very early on. Myself and the other engineer are the only two that are not related, but you could never tell it. I have my retirement place of employment.

on the one job Trustmark Bank - Highland Colony Parkway i see the expansion tank in the picture , in pa we need 30 " all around a pressure vessel and i see you dont ,i like that .
