Went to Hershey park yesterday!!!!My daughters knowing how much I like drills showed me a potato chip slicer(at a food vendor) powered by a hitachi drill. The drill would really start to grunt(to quote Woussko) mid potato. I want one of those potato slicers!!!!LOL
How did it make the slices. Any pics of the machine? Sounds interesting.

Think of the slicer powered by a large spade handle drill. I doubt it would "grunt and groan" near as much then. ;)
Note: Woussko needs to S the H up for a change.

I'll try to research online. It was a circular plate that carved the poptato into slices. A small plate w/ little points held the potato and you pulled the trigger of drill and pushed potato into the slicer.

Here is a link to what it looks like but instead of a hand crank;drill chucks on to shaft and powers it!!! http://www.missionrs.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=MRSC/PROD/N55050AN Here is http://www.hitachipowertools.com/store_item.php?iID=130&arrPath=1,7,29,p130,the drill: The slicer at hershey made thin strips for chips;link I gave shows it making strands but machine looks the same!!!Same concept.
