I just got an email promoting the new Ridgid "Showroom" web site. I was watching the 13" planer video and Ryan says it has 3 blades that gives a 96 cuts per MINUTE blade speed? Wow, quick math tells me the cutter head is rotating at 32rpm? Not gonna get too good a surface at that speed. LOL ( I'll assume he ment 96 cuts per SECOND.)
I think you need to tell Ryan to re-shoot that part of the video. It's on the second page loading of the planer video. Do I win something for being the first to catch it? Like that purdy planer! LOL

It should be 96 cuts per inch.

that might work too, depending on feed rate.

Velosapien is right,
But I still think the Wood Meister deserves a prize? The planer would be good:D

Now we're talkin!!!! LOL
I cked the specs. no load speed is 10,000rpm. (yikes, that's fast!) 96 cuts per inch is correct.

That's actually the trick to increasing the CPI rate. Two speed planers just slow down the feed rate to make more cuts over the same area. The cutter head speed remains the same for both settings.
I'll let em know tomorrow... stupid ryan ;)

Your talking a demo video that is trying to sell Ridgid tools. All those people in the office watching the video (before it hit the internet) going wow this is a great idea, very cool, we'll sell lots more thanks to this idea. But did anybody there listened and really knew what he was talking about. Nobody caught that, its not a misprint. I gotta shake my head on this one. Are all the smart Ridgid employees in India (or where ever) now answering the phones? :D:D:D
No offense to you Josh, at least you got your act together.

Josh -
While you are making calls, please tell someone at Home Depot that there dumb web site still says "Rigid Joiner" and not "jointer."
Been that way for a while. I surprised Rigid hasn't raised a stink yet. When you search for "jointer" the Rigid model doesn't come up. Search for "joiner" and... voila!
Stupid.
:D

Me neither. Here is my trick. I use Firefox browser with a built in spell checker. If it could just help me not say stupid stuff to my wife....I wouldn't have to sleep on the couch so much. :-O

LOL! That's hilarious...
Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize Firefox did that. Might finally be time to convert from Bill Gates Mind Control to Firefox.
You know, if you could invent a "stupid stuff voice filter" you would probably be richer than Gates in no time! :p
