Does anyone have any tricks for getting PVC stubs to stay in place when glued into Oatey plastic washer boxes? I hate sitting around forever holding them in place. I've seen a guy make a wooden jig for them, but that takes a bunch of time too.

Screw the tabs to the framing while your level is on top telling you how to adjust the set. After the glue cures reset the tabs so the box is not deformed to impede placement of the flange after drywall.
Your tailpiece is plumb to the trap when you glue your box on RRRRIIIGHT?:D

I think I may have worded something wrong. I always have trouble with the 24" drop sliding out of the box.

couldn't you prefab the tailpiece in a vertical down position prior to hanging the box?
i thought you were referring to the water connections.
