Alright, I have already been told that once I get his fixed I should put a large plastic washer to avoid metal to metal contact. But in the meantime, how in the heck am I going to get this super nova chuck off the lathe. I have used it many times with no problem removing it, but this time I have already snapped three allen wrenches holding the spindle still while trying to get the chuck off.
I have also already tried the WD-40 rout. I am thinking about drilling the hole where the allen wrench is intended to hold the spindle still straight through to see if that gives me better leverage.
Jake, any ideas? How much of a pain is it going to be to replace the part if I break it?
