I am in need of a good recip saw. I currently use the $90.00 ridgid but the blade control isnt that great. Its wonderful for demo but not that great for the times I need good controled cutting. Any input would be helpful.

I am in need of a good recip saw.

The two best I know of are the Milwaukee (just about any model), and Bosch.

I've owned both and they hold up real well.

Can you give a little better description of what you mean by "good controled cutting"? Maybe you're trying to use a recip saw where a jigsaw is a better tool for the job.

I like my cordless Ridgid MaxSelect recip. It leaves something to be desired with the 18 volt batteries, but with the 24 volt XLi batteries, it's sweet.

i'm planning on getting the 3.0Ah 18 volt batts for my non-max recip...hopefully it performs better then the 2.5 nicad batts :o

the 24 volt batts def have their advantages of being more powerfull but they seem so big and clumsy :(

The Milwaukee has long been considered the benchmark for power, stroke, build quality, and performance.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I got the $119.00 Milwaukee. Great saw.
