I've had my 3612 for a little over a month now and it finally happened. I suppose it had to happen eventually and I guess I'm glad it happened sooner than later. I was not paying attention to what I was doing and WHAM, pinched my finger between the webbed wing and the fence. redface.gif No major damage, except to my pride, but boy does that smart. A lesson well learned and I'll bet it will be a long time before I do that again. Accidents can also happen when the power is turned off. ;)

BD,
Just wondering how you did this with so much force that it hurt? I always adjust the fence either by the orange lock handle or the front of the fence right next to the locking handle...

I have never give pinching a thought or ever worried about it... Can you explain more???

BJ,

I wasn't adjusting the fence to make a cut. I was making an extension for the top to fill up the blank space on the RH side of the saw. I was just moving the fence out of my way so I could take some measurements. Had my left hand on the wing with a finger pointing down, moved the fence to the left and WHAMO . Like I said, my fault, stupid move but no real damage done.

Maybe that's why I like the webbed wings. Small people's fingers aren't long enough to reach the bottom of the fence, haha.

Hope the soreness doesn't stick around too long for you Dave. Now a hammer smash, that would have been worth a couple #%& words.
