So has any one seen it where 3" pvc under a basment slab had a piece of rebar stick down trew the top of the pipe to about the center of the pipe? we we did yesterday, and then today we had the joy of digging it up and reparing it :-p

All the time, concrete guys or a tweeked out plumber most likely the culprit.Usually it is found before the house is given it's cerificate of occupation because we pressure test the system for integrity multiple times.

Must have been interesting to see on the camera. Never saw it with Navy work since we can't have rebar in the ground under a concrete slab.

The structural rebar out here is not supposed to leave the concrete here as well Ben.It will rot into the cocrete and weaken the interior grid.We as plumbers do use it to support plumbing, but it should not contaminate the structural rebar by comming into contact with it.

We can't even do that. No rebar at all protruding from the slab.

I hear-ya.Nationwide quality in production homes looks like they were built out of a Home Depot box by a corner laborer.

it happens on occasion, the concrete guys will drive in rebar to set their floor hight before they place & screed the concrete, pipes are buried and they don't know where they run and drive the rebar right through the plastic pipe
