Greetings, I own a K380 for once a year reopening of laundry line (very nice machine, but heavy....). I have used it about 3 times, but haven't oiled it yet. I used it yesterday and the cable came out very dirty with the black smelly stuff. User's manual says to rinse the cable with water and oil it (there is some surface rust already so I really want to do this now). Is the Ridgid Cable Rust Inhibitor the only way to go or is there a more common substitute I can find at the local OSH, HD car part store etc? Thanks in advance, Voy

WD40 or if you only use the cable once a year you might try LPS. it won't attract dirt and other airborne stuff like WD40 does.

Thanks! Of course, I have WD40. But I am not familiar with LPS.....so I googled...is this the one?
