Need help using a Ridgid 330 pipe threader

Just bought a used 300 pipe threader and having trouble with the die latching on to the pipe to start threading it. 1" pipe and all it does is round the end of the pipe about 1/8" inch....could it be my dies...teeth need replacing or technique....new at this...need help...thanks

Either the dies are worn, improperly installed, or improperly adjusted.

are you using the 12r style hand dies? if so they need adjusting or replacing.

the 811 or 815 die heads that fit the carraige are much easier to use and are adjustable.
