Ridgid vs Ryobi planer

Was walking through my local HD today and took note that the Ridgid 13" planer sold for $399.00 and the Ryobi 13" planer sold for $199.00. The general specs looked similar so why the big price difference? Is the Ridgid that much better?

I realize it is a little bit more money however I would strongly recommend spending a little bit more to get the DeWalt. The Ridgid doesn't even come close to matching the performance of the DW735. You will pay a little but will be a lot happier with the performance.
