Does anyone know of where to get statistics in relation to what plumbers do? Examples: Water heater explosions, scalding, siphoning occurrences to potable water, failure rates on systems, etc.

JC, you might try calling a few insurance companies or your insurance provider and asking them...

CDC: Water system failures
American Red Cross: Injuries

I'm not sure that any one source is going to give you all the information but you should be able to get a statisticly representative sample.
