Hello, with another sale going at HD that amounts to 20% off puchases over $500 I think I will get the Ridgid jointer for sure but am struggling with the planer, it does not seem as solid or beefy as the Dewalt, should I spend the extra $s and get the Dewalt??

There's nothing inherently wrong with either of the Ridgid planers but yes, the DeWalt is a better planer than the Ridgid's.
