Which battery last longer? 24 v ion or 18 ion

If they both have the same AH rating then the 24V will have more stored energy and should run longer except perhaps in the case of the max select tools. These tools are designed to run at V but will accept V batteries. The current draw will be higher on the V battery so it may not last as long as the V in this unique case but the tool performance will be degraded at 18V. Never tested it, just my theory

Oh god - how much time do we have?? That's a pretty open ended question.
The biggest thing is not necessarily what the voltage is of a particular battery, but what the Ah (ampere hours) are of that particular battery.
For the purposes of the MaxSelect tools, the easy answer is that the 24 volt XLi lithium-ion 3.0 Ah batteries are a bit better/stronger/longer/etc., but the simple trade-off for that is that it is a bigger/heavier battery than the 18 volts.
