I am getting ready to buy a router table for my Ridgid TS2424LS tablesaw that now has a TS3612 fence capacity... I am considering the "Mule Router Table with Insert Plate" as my first choice... I will be powering this with my Freud FT2000E 3-1/4hp router...
I have a few questions before I make my final decision thou:
1.) Have any of you used this router table? I would like to hear from you…

2.) Has the 5/8" thick MDF shown any signs of sagging?

3.) How well does the insert plate insert in and out of the table and does it jump around any while in use?

4.) Overall opinion of the table in general...

The table seems like a pretty fair price at $129.00 and includes free shipping...
It also is pre-drilled and has inserts for the Freud SH5 Incremental routerfence...
5.) Has anyone used this also???

I am very serious about getting something setup very soon but don't want to make a poor decision, so I look to you folks for advice...

Thanks for the advance for the advice...

This is not looking very promising... I posted this question in 3 forums and have gotten really nothing... Sure wish Ridgid would take the bull by the horns and come out with a tablesaw router table... Ryboi has added it to some of there’s... :(

Big Johnson,

I bumped you back to the top of Woodnet. Hopefully you'll get a response. Is this your company? BEHLEN MFG. CO.

Big Johnson,

I spend some time in the local farm stores so the name is familiar. Probably have some of your fencing. I was trying to bump you and clicked on your name instead - that's when I saw the Behlen link. Office isn't on 81 is it? I pass through Columbus about six times a year on my way to York.

I too was hoping someone has bought and used the mule router table.
In monitoring other boards, another possibilty was endorsed, but again with very little real world experience. Harbor Freight sells a cast iron router table that is 20 x 27. It has predrilled holes for its legs that can be reused with some fences, or new holes are drilled. It sells for $199.
That was about all the info I could glean. Has anyone here done that with their Ridgid, or has anyone else have some comments?

'olCrookedCut,

This is a link to a post I made at the end of January. I think that dwillis bought the table you refer to. On my browser it's on the bottom of page 4 with the last post on 2/4/03.

I did indeed buy the table from HF and mount it on my saw.I still have not had a chance or the time to use it very much at all so I still am unable to give a real opinion on it.I made a wooden fence to attach to the saw fence to use with the router, which is also a HF,but any router will mount. My Porter Cable 690 rounter mounts does not need an extenion and can change bits from top of table. The table does not have a place for mounting plate,it has a small hole about 2 or 3 ins,I measured it but don't remember what it was.
I have a couple of pictures but don't know how to post them.

Got a bite on one of my other post's...

Here it is:
"I have one. I got it last spring. No sag. I think the t-track edging and the rails along both ends/sides provide reinforcement. Anyway-- no sag. The insert is great. Fit is very tight. And, again, no sag with the thick and compact insert.

I use it with a Hitachi. b/c it is one of three router tables i can go to, i don't use it all the time. Mostly for my half inch bits and any larger diameter bits.

I use it with a home made fence "positioned" by my Vega ts fence and at times, with incra ultra light.

For the price and features, this was one of those times i opted to buy, rather than build. No regrets.

Seems this user is happy with it...

Sorry for being slow to respond. I have the mule plate for the homemade router table on my 3612. I bought some aluminumm L bar and bolted it to the inside of the "empty" space onn the saw. I then cut a piece of 3/4 inch Melamine for the table, aligned level with the saw table. Then routed an opening for the Mule Router place.

Be careful when you drill the router plate to mount your router... I slipped, and now my bit isn't perfectly centered in the hole, so I cannot use the template guides with the Mule plate attached. Someday I will rotate the router and try again with new holes. With this setup I can use the saw fence for many of the cuts, so I don't have a separate router fence yet.

Hello All,

I was considering buying the Frued fence for my delta router/shaper table. I have seen the mule at woodshows and the fence at HD. That certainly is plenty of router to power it.

Ok, Big Johnson
Its thur; what do you think of that router table you bought for your saw? Does the cast iron wing have to be removed? Does it seem solid? We're waiting with baited breath (LOL)

See ya
