How do I earn points and what do I do with them?

Can I cash them in for prizes or frequent flyer miles?

Where do you see this? Is it part of the name of the board the software uses to run the forum?

Click on your username and you will see them. For the older guys I bet they are like saving "Blue Chip" stamps.

I've never had to deal this this-always wrap it up and watch where it goes. Married now so this might be better question for the single guys.

Its a new feature that measures experience level in the forum based off of more than posts. Just something fun to try. Click on someones username and you will see what it is tracking.

If you guys/gals are curious as to the point system and your place in line you can click on the drop down menu of Quick Links and the forth link down is the vBExperience link. It will list everyone with their points and how they got them.

How convienient for you;)

I say discontinue all post counting on the plumbing forums.

A mountain biking forum I frequent does not run post count.

Kindof refreshing after seeing some of the things that have transpired here.

I don't like the thought of any of our members possibly being infected with TIEGER SYNDROME.

Loose the post count.Sorry Guys

I tried to find one of the smilies to fit. This is not that big of a deal.I just think the post thing to some means more than others.

Now we have the thanks count for the competitors to ploy with.GREAT!!!

So to put this in proper perspective. The more points a fella has, the less time he spends actually working........... Gotta go........:D

I don't understand a lot of this, but then again there's a lot of stuff in the world I don't understand. Probably the most important question to me is this "Thanks" stuff. How does it come up with a number, is there some special button one must push to thank someone for posting?

I don't often say thanks for general posts, but certainly have when I've read or viewed someone's project or they've answered a question that I"ve posted. I don't see where those have been noticed. Scores don't matter much to me, as I view my presense here as an enjoyable pastime. But I winced when it looks like I've never thanked anyone over the four years that I've been a member of the forum. So, how does the computer come up with that number?

You can't do it on one of your own posts. . ..Rick tried:D

Look at the bottom of any other post. There is an icon next to the quote icons.
