For domestic mail click this link and enter in the required information. Everything is going up from the looks of it above. I'm glad I stocked up on Forever stamps for 1 Oz first class letters.

I'm more worried about gas and food and materials, versus one cent....

Your postage rates are really cheap from a shipping perspective. Canada is really expensive....
Then again, you do have 10 times the population, so the volume discount is there I guess.........:D

You are good if you purchased forever stamps though.

I bet for what it's worth the sale of FAX machines will go up some. I bet more people will use e-mail as well.
As for the USPS rates, they are still a great deal if you think about what it takes to move all our mail about and it is door to door service.:)

Thats the thing, email is just as good as a fax machine and cheaper. Most printers have built in scanners and I use them all the time. Paying bills threw the internet is another thing which I do. But some places charge a dollar for this, those are the ones I don't deal with then.

The printer/scanner can be really useful. When I applied for my mortgage, if I suggested email instead of fax they were OK with it. Unfortunately, some places still want to send/receive a fax.
At work we have some scanners that are like fax/copy machines and will auto-feed the pages, and then send you an email with what it scanned. The only drawback is that it is in black and white, if it was in color it would be even cooler (w/ e-mail and other electronic only stuff there is no reason to just force it to be black and white).
I still like paying by check rather than online, but online is probably safer and less error prone. Earlier in the year I paid my insurance company $113.11 by check. Someone in their cash management department dropped the decimal when converting it to an automated draft, and my account was debitted $11,311!:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry: I also find it annoying that HSBC doesn't give you check images except online. My old bank had all of them attached to the statement 10 to a page, convenient pre-punched for sticking in a 3 ring binder.

Here is where on the USPS web site you can find out more and also access a rate calculator. Be sure to check the new cost for things you mail before mailing them.
