Beautiful place for sure. I vacationed in St Croix about 28 years ago with a couple buddies. We didn't realize it was a couples kind of place. Took the snorkel tour of Buck Island, real nice. Guess your paradise hasn't gotten boring, enjoy and lay off the diet soda.

that is Buck Island in the shot. a bit less than 2 miles from my deck.
can't stand the original. too sweet, and too many calories.

i need to take more days off. this has been fabulous.
been playing the tele through the 18W and getting to try a Nick Greer OD pedal called a Relic Drive. for you electric players WOW!!! don't really need it, probably really can't afford it, but i gotta have it. everything from a nice clean boost to zipping blues to AC/DC/Joe Walsh (James Gang), a bit of Lwslie West, and a ton of Martin Barre (Jethro Tull) especially Aqualung.
about time to fix a beverage and start prepping the grill.
Josh, i think that would be really cool, but air is very expensive. one of the reasons i can't do Roundup this year. a lot of things such as lodging, etc could be fairly affordable but the air could be the deal killer. anyway, i'm up for it.
Rick, keep those shakes, man. i've seen the DTS and it's not a pretty sight :p

Looks like a slice of paradise Steve.
A much different view from my deck :(
I love the islands and can't wait to get back down there. I'm off to Bermuda soon for some Rum Swizzles
I prefer the Black Seal over Cruzan :p
That's funny you mentioned Matin Barre, I was just rocking out to Ian Anderson Plays the Orchestral Jethro Tull

In the late '90s I had a job offer down there. Your picture makes me wonder if I made a mistake by refusing it.

Heavy equipment operator in Albany,NY? Sure you've worked some brutal winters in your time. I can't imagine working in a tropical paradise like St. Croix. Years ago I was on vacation with my wife in Bermuda, there I was poolside having a drink and enjoying the beautiful weather and beautiful sites. Twelve hours later I was in a damp, dark crawl space in the South Bronx, real shock to the system.

Now I know what was wrong with this weekend!! We had smoked bbq, home-made veggie salad, fresh bread....it was delicious. What was missing was the VIEW!! Looks great, Strxus! Hope you had a good weekend. :)

Frank,
The job offer down there was as a psychotherapist. The organization would pay all relocation costs. I don't recall the salary. There was a problem with alcoholism and a need for therapists. Well... I am a pretty slow learner but I only needed to be puked on once by a drunk who was hugging me to realize that working with this population wasn't for me no matter what the climate was like. Funny now but not at the time.

guys, it's just like anywhere else. you gotta work or be independently wealthy. living on an island isn't for everyone. it works for me!!
good psychs could well make $$$ here.
i stay fairly busy. a lot of peaks and valleys but it seems to levl out in the end. just started my 3rd year and ordered a camera today. maybe get to expand into grease trap maintenance later this year. you know, the care and feeding as it were.
