Help on planing rough cypress

I have finally started my new shop 10' x 18' and have learned how to make ship lap siding from rough cut cypress as in the old siding.. Question is at what % water content do I start planing so that I do not have shrinkage.. they will be 1 x 6 in 8' & 10' boards.. 115 of them. I figure it to be about 40 hours of work. Any help[ will be great. thanks people..dd :confused: :confused: smile.gif

I would say when I got my cypress it had 15% mostier. Let it dry out frist.

Andy, thanks ..but how dry? I just ordered it and it should be in next week. Making a space to stack(with sticks) and keep it out of the rain, will cover with a tarp as long as the sun is out.. :confused: :confused: smile.gif
