While it's still fresh in everyone's mind;

-have a bare stud wall and have the team rough in a sink and toilet.
-install a water heater
-have a drum and a sectional far away in a van and you start in the drivers seat and take the machine out and set it up to the clean out. Time stops when you're back in the van.
-no template for the copper maze, measuring is an important skill
-having fewer events that lasted a little longer would suit me just fine.
-cut a sheet of plywood-2 parts-points for speed and points for straightness
-frame a stud wall.

I know that Ridgid is a huge company that like any other company is scared of liability but please understand we're plumbers who do this type of work. Sign the safety release form and let us go at it.

ben, i know you're looking for revenge:D

but they're still mopping up cutting oil from the threading contest.

with any luck, there will be no competitions as a commercial cruise ship will not allow for it:rolleyes:

especially in the carribean;)

give it some time to sink in as your emotions are running wild;)

don't you have access to some naval ships:confused:

Not revenge but it's best to talk about these things while it's on everyone's mind. Hopefully 8 months from now when Josh asks for suggestions, the details of this one will be a little fuzzy. I don't want the Ridgid guys and gals to think this is a negative thread on them by any means. This year's roundup was fantastic. Just a way to improve for next year.

A cruise ship idea does sound good. Might even be cheaper for them.

If he added the framing and stuff you might get more of us, though rushing something with a RIDGID framing nailer seems like a recipe for disaster.

Maybe a sanding competition for the woodworkers? Take a piece of hardwood and cut a curvy profile into it with the Band Saw, then sand the profile (Oscilating belt/spindle sander), then use the ROS to final sand it to 220 grit. I might have a chance to win that!! ;)

The straight-cut competition is a great idea. As long as I can bring along my straight edge!

Framing competition would be very cool, too. Take a pile of 2x4's and given a length and height, make a wall. Top plate, bottom plate and studs. Points for getting the crown in the right direction!

Will there be a video competition again next year, Josh? If so, I'll get busy on it now!

We had some power tools folks at the Roundup and we had a great time with them. I think they had a good time as well. At least they kept coming back each day :D

clamp a peice of osb or plywood down have some rip lines chalked on them for 5 or 6 full lengh rips and see who can cut them the straitest and the fastest.

a door hanging comp, a window installing comp, for the sparkeys a pannel (3-6 circuts) wireing comp, 3 way switch comp,

oh and since we are all going to be there a burger eating contest.

No tension at all and I hope no one thinks there was any up there. Besides, you can talk trash when you show up to events.

It's well known you never see Superman and Clark Kent at the same time. As a super-hero I am bound by ther same rules.

Building a wall, someone might get shot because of speed. Build a header, at least your shooting downwards, thats safer. Laying out and cutting stringers, now that takes some experience, and the stringers and headers can be put to usage somewhere. But the thing here is, theres more woodworkers then builders, so we need to take that into consideration. And speed around power tools can get dangerous.

So maybe some toy making and then donate the toys at X-Mas time. Or even building toy boxes, so we can fill em up. When it comes to wood, I hate to see it go to waste, if you know what I mean.

Any major woodworkers out the that Ridgid sponsors, so he/she can put on a demonstration of talent????

You know Niki can make some pretty nice jigs, line Niki up... Yep....

How to sharpen chisels and saw blades....

John with his birdhouses/condo's :D, now theres an idea too...

More to come later on, gotta put my thinking cap on........Mark

if there were a lot of wood workers there they would have to have some of the people from other plants come in to be there for you questions .the place we were just makes piping things .

How about this for a contest Ben,

You have to take a K-39 with lets say a C-1 cable installed.

Then you have to remove the inner drum holding the C-1 then replace
it with a drum holding a C-5 cable.

Then you must run the machine through a lav arm of lets say 3' to a Sanitary Tee and it must go down the drain and not up the vent in the quickest time.

Clock stops when cable is seen coming out bottom of drain piping.
drain and not up the vent

No I missed the Choppers, Was told by one of the employees that they got back 2 Choppers that were given out as prizes because the winners were unable to ride them as they are to hard to control. One even took riding lessons and still gave the bike back.

unfortunately that probably won't happen. got a call days before the roundup that the higher ups read something about a tug of war.

not sure if it was the west vs. east or the 7500 vs. 1065:eek:

but i do know if there was a tug of war. forget the west and east.

put the geritol team +40 against the young guys -40.

from what i remember us old guys would have walked all over the young guys. i guess it's experience:rolleyes:
