Any recommendations on pipe threading machines below?

I want one that only turns the screw, but doesn't turn the pipe when it's threading.
Thanks,

how big of a pipe are you threading. If the pipe must remain stationary your only choices area 600 or a 700 600 only goes to 1" i think and a 700 using 12r dies can do to 2"? any other threading machine turns the pipe and not the threading head

the newer 690 does up to 2'' pipe.
of course you can hand thread the pipe in a vise and 12r threader.
only takes 66 seconds to cut ream and thread 1'' pipe by hand:eek:
that's with experience;)

if you need to go above 2" use a 700 and a 141 with a pipe stand, this will go to 4" or 161 to 6", works good for job sites or when you need to thread pipe that is already bent, we use the 141, for 2-1/2 - 4"

If don't want the pipe to spin you will have to go with a machine like the 700. It is the best portable power drive. The 600 and 690 are mor limited in what they can accept and they have plastic parts where the 700 is almost all metal. Keep in mind if you use a handheld you will also need to get a chainvise (460) and a 418 oiler.
The 700 is a great machine, but if you plan on doing a bit of threading a 300 might be better.
