Poplar Source?

I'm looking for a good source of Poplar in the Westfield (Springfield), Ma
area for a workbench. I would prefer milled (?? not rough-cut) stock. I
will need some 2x4's, 1x4's, etc. I can get it at Home Depot, but I was
hoping to find a little better price.

Hey Mark:
I don't know where you can get poplar from but, I would'nt use it as workbench top as it is a soft hardwood and most likley won't hold under heavy use.Althought it would probably be ok for the frame if used it large enough demensions.
If you can get any kind of hardwood at home depot you're lucky.I checked the one by my house last week and the only dementional lumber I could find besides 2x's was some red cedar.
