OPEC sells oil for $136.00 a barrel.
OPEC nations buy U.S. grain at $7.00 a bushel.
Solution: Sell grain for $136.00 a bushel.
Can't buy it? Tough! Eat your oil!
Ought to go well with a nice thick grilled fillet of camel @ss!!!

If only that would happen. It never ceases to amaze me why this country never fights fire with fire.

Garager that was some great reasoning at work. We keep hearing how big oil is just a business doing what businesses do, so why can't our farmers charge whatever they feel the market will bear? Just don't raise the price of my donuts.:thud:

IT is CALLED The board of trade, THAT IS HOW GRAIN GETS PRICED. (by buyers and speculators, the same as with oil, {by demand, and disruptions of production, or excess supplies}),

Farmers (commercial) in the last 100 years have NOT controlled the price of the product they sell, some one else tells them what they will get.

and last winter I think ever one was not pleased with $10 wheat and $6 dollar corn, I do not think you would do any better with $136 grains, Now that would actually raise the price of food,

Good bit of information but I don't think any of us were serious about this being an answer to our problems. We do need real solutions and quick, hopefully before winter.
