Can anyone tell me if you need to use a special die to thread aluminum conduit?
I have not threaded much of it, but when I have I did not us any thing special, jsut regular ridgid pipe dies for my 12R or 11R heads . some times on aluminum using ws40 or kerosene helps over oil (at lest on my milling machine).

there is another discussion and seems a little more to the point,
http://www.electriciantalk.com/showthread.php?t=2734 the basic statement is to use new and sharp dies.
these suppliers say "Threading – Sharp dies and conventional cutting oil should be used."
