I have found it happens when someone posts a photo in the thread. I think it expands the page larger to accommodate the photo.
I could be wrong though:nyaa-nyaa4:

yes it does it when a picture is added but it has happened a couple times when people just post like this one

He has a photo in the original post-it is an attached thumbnail. See how the box expands to the end of the screen?

I think the IT team people have huge monitors and set the resolution up too high.
This is especially true with the new wide screen type monitors. They forget that
many of us still use 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 resolution. I don't have a wide screen,
but I can run at 1280 x 1024 resolution and view the whole page but the letters are
just too small on my 17" monitor. Now on a big 20" or larger and especially on a wide
screen monitor it would be different. I think that's the issue. The Ridge IT team
needs to automatically do more page formatting for us and setup the forum for
lower resolution viewing.

I have 3-24" wide screens and 1-20" wide screen in my office which is great during the winter but not so great during the summer. It is amazing how much heat those things put out.

ok i set my set up to show 10 post per page and in this thread the first 10 it is fine then the 2nd 10 it is wide screen and there is no photo pasted the 3rd page there is a photo and it is regular screen ?
we will have to see what happens when a computer goo roo comes on
My best guess is that the occupation/years experience field is not wrappable (i.e. it must fit on one line). Since some people have very long ones + an avatar it is forcing you to scroll.

That used to happen to me also Hawk. I bought a Monitor Stretcher from Best Buy. I think it was less than $20. Well worth the price. Turned my 19" into a 24" widescreen. No more scrolling left and right for me :)
