I need to replace a rusted out iron drain pipe from my mother's laundry room in her old house. I would like to make a straight run to the main sewer line which is 4" drain tile under a very thin concrete basement floor. My question is what is the procedure for cutting a hole into tile?

we typically don't saddle clay lines of this size. we cut in a wye and band it together.
when i do saddle a line, i use a diamond core drill.
