I set many tubs in before ,but I want to set a steel tub in a basement and the floor is way way off .What is the best way to shim it . The last tub was off a little i shimmed with wood ,it was a American cast, and stated no structlite .This tub did not state that . thanks

I'm a carp. that plumbs. You didn't give us much info,so here is how I would handle it.
I would rip tapered 2x4s from nothing to level for the outside skirt. Screw a 1x4 against the wall. There's a lot missing here,but You didn't give Us much!

Pour a mud bed under it, set it level and then, when the mortar dries remove the tub carefully and place the ledgers, replace the tub.
Great ,I am doing that today set a bed ,level the tub ,then set the ledger .the tub is off about 2in in the front .
