Probably all of those things, (although I can't, and don't want to know what goes "scrape, scrape" on JC's hot dates)but here is a photo of my riddle.

A mouse accidently crawling over a snake.:smash:

Yup. The squeak, scrape, is the mouse in the wall gnawing on the cpvc. The hiss is the water under pressure that drowned the mouse and his little buds (4 of them). The "oh, sh*t" is me. It should have read, "oh, sh*t, not again!" at 10:30 pm when my son heard the hissing.
This is my house and the exact same thing happened in the exact same place the exact same time last year. And no, I wasn't smart enough to put some steel wool around the pipe before the wall was repaired last year.

I had polybutylene. It was repiped with cpvc. I'm on a well and the copper doesn't bode well here.

Copper pipe is fine with a proper pH neutralizer installed after the well tank.

I don't have a tank. We have a constant pressure pump. My neighbor has the whole well package (ph neutralizers, filters, whatever) and they constantly get pinholes in their pipes.
Besides, it's not my house and until I get my kids through school, no extra outlay.
