I have an old (probably around 1950) A C Gilbert 1/4" power drill.
It's not in the greatest shape. I can't find any info on on the web to determine if it has any value to a collector.

Can anyone offer any help.

Thanks

If you have an eBay selling account setup or know someone that does, try listing it. If the right people see the listing it may bring some nice bids. It is a rare brand today. What you have is a D or end handle style drill. Back then they were made in smaller sizes. Today most if not all come geared down and have 1/2" chucks on them. They are bigger than your's too. In the 50s (and before) Black & Decker and Milwaukee had 1/4 and 3/8 drills much like your's. I happen to have a mid 50s Milwaukee that's much like it. The difference is that you have a collector's tool. People that collect vintage power tools (There are some of them out there) like the lesser known brands. It's too bad it's not in really nice condition but restoring a tool is great too. I have too many tools and other stuff so I must not get anymore. I really need to clean up. On the other hand I'm sure there are people that would love your drill.
