Can anyone tell me, re 1/2" copper pipe. Is the 1/2" the inside or outside diameter?

Thanks Ivor

Hello Ivor, Copper tubing is sized nominally. 1/2" nominal copper types K & L will have an O.D. of .625". And a wall thickness of .049" The I.D. will more closely reflect the nominal rating. Another good thing to remember is that "Sweat Fittings" are measured by their (ID). Compression Fittings" are measured by their (OD).
