Senco FP25XP Brad Nailer

My Senco/Accuset A200BN blew something loose in the trigger assembly today allowing air to pass by the trigger and drop the firing pin while the air line is hooked up... There are no local repair centers for Senco, so I must send it off to get it repaired...

Today I ordered a new Senco FP25XP 2-1/8" 18ga. brad nailer to carry the main load of my Accuset after it is repaired... My question is, I read all the reviews on Amazon and they look really good. I needed a gun by no later than next Thursday and The tool Crib promissed they could deliver, so I ordered it... I would like to hear from users that own the FP25XP nail gun and get there thoughts...

I shoot about 2,000 brads or so a weekend on craft items and mainly run 2" brads... This seems like the right gun for my needs from what I have read, but; I would like to hear all pro's and con's from you owners...

I don't have that model but I do have several Senco guns and they are ALL great. Remember that the Sencos are oiless (oil is actually bad for them).

Dad has a senco, it's a nice little unit, I've only liked the feel of a similar Stanly Bostitch in my hands better, though I have no clue about the quality of them.

Was wondering how you like your 25XP. I am trying to decide on a brad nailer and am down to two Senco models.

I like the size and feel of the SLP20 over the 25XP but am wondering if I will miss the extra 1/2" capacity (1 5/8" for SLP20 vs 2 1/8" for 25XP).

Also - you stated you will use the new one until the Accuset has been repaired. Do you still prefer the Accuset over the new nailer?

I like the Senco FP25Xp very much... I feel it was a good investment... I use the heck out of my nail guns for craft items and such so they don't collect any dust...

As far as the SLP20 comparing it to the FP25XP; I would miss the 1/2" capacity greatly... I shoot a ton of 2" brads in my projects... The 1-5/8" brad nailer would cramp me... But maybe it is more than you need... You will have to decide what kinds of thing you plan on making as to what size of nailer to get... I am an "X" weapons repairman for the military so I decided to fix the gun myself instead of taking it to our local lumber yard... They didn't impress me much on the phone... I had the gun up and running on my own after taking every part out and giving it a good inspection, cleaning an lube with white lithium grease and putting it back together... it works like a champ again... I think I just plain starved it of oil... It needed way more than I was giving it... the new FP25XP uses NO oil... Oil is bad for it...
I have switched to the 25XP as my main gun and use the Accuset for my second gun with shorter nails and have them both out ay the same time...

I also have an Accuset 1/2" to 1-1/2" 18ga. stapler that I like vary well and a Bostitch 1-1/4" to 2-1/2" 15ga angle clip finish nailer... That gun cost a lot to shoot thou...

As far as the Senco to the Accuset, I like the light weight of the new gun and the smaller tip but otherwise they both do a fine job of burying a nail... smile.gif
