hey everyone is Woody still on this forum? The last I heard and that was a few months ago, he and a few others were leaving.The reason was because of Rigids new tool line and not standing up for their prouducts.

Hi Woody glad you are still here.
Question I am lookng to buy a Jointer/planer I was lookin at the Rigid JP0610 I guess that is the newer version The cost is $466.59 with FREE UPS Ground shipping at tool up (http://www.toolup.com/ProductInfo.asp?ID=14668&Man=Ridgid) i went to my local HD and they had a floor model. I beleive it was the older version for $399.00 they said it was $499.00 Yeah right :rolleyes: Is that a good deal for the oldermodel or shall I buy the newest one?

Just a note, if you check out the threads in the General Power Tool Discussion concerning the Limited Lifetime Warranty you will see that the lifetime warranty being offered through the end of the year is only valid if you purchase at HD.

Kinda ruins things having to go through BOB.

Sorry, I would not wish a Ridgid machine upon my worst enemy at this point. It's like a garage sale. You bought it, as is. No returns. No service. And the JP0610 is known to have a bad motor bearing causing squealing. Do a search, you will find quite a few posts as such.

Sorry for the let down, but better before the purchase, than after.
