The engineer here told me to check on a product that sprays on copper pipe like paint, is permanent, and prevents cool water lines from sweating.

It's a mystery to me. I think it's a myth, but he says that some company is using it.

Has anyone heard of such a thing?

We got a sample of pipe with the mysterious coating. It looks like gray paint. It is not thick and is even throughout. Ever seen anything like this.

we had some 6" pipe sweating so we turned the pumps of over night so they would dry so we could paint them with rustoleum paint . well after the paint dried the pumps were turned on and know more sweeting , we did insulate the pipes 3 weeks later and still no water
