garbage disposal windings

I replaced my old Badger 1 with a new Badger 1 and decided to remove the windings and save them for a future copper recycling. They looked like copper until I began cutting them. Are they aluminum with some kind of copper coating on them? Yes? No more copper wire in this stuff? I feel gyped!! LOL

I've never taken one apart to see the internals. Not unless the shell broke apart which is always up top.

The windings very well could be aluminum with insulating varnish on them. Transformer windings and loudspeaker voice coils in many cases are made from aluminum wire anymore.
TWM For all the work to install the new one (It's really not bad normally) I would have thought you would have wanted an Evolution model.
