View Full Version : replacing a manifold please help

help needed urgently. i've got a combi boiler sealed system the rads are fed with 10mm micro bore from a manifold. the upstairs manifold which serve four rads started to leek and had to be replaced from a copper one to two plastic ones ever since then the rads upstairs won't get hot both the flow and return pipe are hot and so is one pipe feeding each rad off one of the manifolds the four pipes from the other manifold is cold.
please help what have i done wrong.

i know its a mes but why wont it work do i need to move one of the manifolds over on the other 22mm pipe

yes you need to move one manifold over and those two 22mm pipes should not be connected

the 22mm pipes need to be connected its a sealed system flow and return.
they where originally connected via a single copper manifold but that split after many years of service

rombo your a star mate i've just gone searching in my dustbin for the old manifold and your right i now know what i've done wrong. thanks again for you advice i owe you one.

Are those press fittings that have been pressed + soldered or am i seeing things? :eek:

They are pre-soldered fittings(solder in the ring). I don't see the point, but they are out there.
