Hello
Has anybody used this drill yet? If so, what are your thoughts? I thought it has just a little better balance and sleeker chuck than the Ridgid (the one I was considering before this one came out). Thanks, Ron

Wow, seems like everyone is jumping on the three cell lithium tools now.

Hijacking the thread a little bit but I also saw on Makita's Japan website they have a 10.8v drill with chuck on the way as well.

good find. Black and Decker really missed the train with their VPX 2-cells.

IMHO, those look cheap and poorly made, and remind me of those god awful B&D VPX tools someone mentioned above. Now for a housewife or model builder/hobbyist, maybe they would be ok. For me...no way.

IMO the Nextec lineup has performance specs comparable with all of the 10.8-12V power tools. Perfect for light duty use in confined areas, the 24-LED light is bright and the saw is innovative. The drill is more powerful than my PS20 and looks like a PS30 clone which is a good thing since it has good reviews. If I did not have the PS20/40 I would consider them based on value/performance.

Since TTI makes craftsman cordless tools as well I would imagine these share a lot of similarities with the Ridgid/Milwaukee 12v tools.

The customer reviews on that page speak for themselves. As I suggested, it appears that they are cheaply made and lack enough serious power to be good performers.

I've had the Bosch PS30 drill for about a month now and it has very good power for it's size. I've looked at the Nextec set and I think the saw is a good idea, but I'm already invested in the Bosch 12v line up. I've handled the Nextec tools in the store and they did not feel as durable as the other offerings from Bosch/Makita/Milwaukee/Ridgid. One of the Nextec reviews stated the drill was not very powerful in the high speed mode. I rarely use the Bosch in anything but high speed. That was the whole reason I bought it was for the additional RPMs.

All that said, I still almost bought the set just for the saw.
