I like it, the grey colour is nice too. I'm sure people would dig the chance to have all their tools in that nice grey colour scheme.
Cordless nailer would be AWESOME.

Kanxrus,
Nice find. Any idea as to cost? 15 Ga Cordless, I need it to go along with my cordless Senco 18 ga. Wonder when it'll hit my neck of the woods?

I just stumbled across it on TOTT. No other info was given. I guess it was shown at the IBS show in Las Vegas.
From:Tools of the Trade
"Ridgid is on a roll of new product development that makes them one of the great optimism builders for those who follow the tool market.
From their cordless lithium-ion power tool line they had a new compact drill/driver and a new version of their Micros subcompact with two speeds and higher torque, a cordless Fuego one-handed recip saw, and their smallest 18-volt impact driver yet. A 15-gauge trim nailer with a compact 18-volt battery appeared in a new gray color, and there were also brand new cordless and corded collated screwguns. Other new corded tools included a mini 10-inch table saw with the new UL guard system and an amazing 24-inch rip capacity, and the Euro-styled Smartcart vacuum with built in drawers for accessory storage"

Yep, it sure does. Was out looking at the 15 ga cordless nailer a couple of days ago and ran across the DeWalt (local HD didn't have any others and it's been a while since they stocked the Senco AirFree models). By the pictures, this one is pretty slimmed down. Wonder what the price will be?

I just posted last week asking about a cordless nailer and got no info... so I bought the Dewalt... it's a shame a Ridgid rep did not post... I would have definitely waited if I knew one was coming... oh well, lost sale.

About time. Makita still keeps screwing around. I like the design better than Dewalt's. I wonder if it's flywheeel or solenoid. I'd say flywheel.

Oh man this would be nice to have, I hope they hit the shelves soon! I am on the fence on whether or not to remain a Ridgid power tool customer, but the slew of new products they seem to be developing is keeping me interested!

Jscozz,
did you buy the CRN 38 cordless nailer? If so, how do you like it and do you know where to get batteries for it? I'm thinking of buying one, but I don't want to buy something I can't get batteries for and will have to replace when the ones in the box die. Thanks!!

Pesciwasp it sounds like you are bragging and gloating about your new tool you found and got but no one else can seem to find. I hate it when one store carries something and another one doesn't. Why can't they all have set inventories so everyone is treated the same.
Nice tool. Your right it probably is B A.

what continues to amaze me is that you have what appears to be a real nifty tool that isn't even shown on ridgid's own website. any chance you can provide the 6 digit SKU# so i can check with a few of my HDs? unless you have that or the bar code, they can't find or confirm or discuss anything.

code on rec is 648846054391, not sure what dif between fly wheel or solenoid, i agree ridgids web site is way behind on new tools. How can we spend money on stuff that has no re searchable specs or features?

I bought one today for $299. Looks great, comes with 1 battery, charger and bag. My only complaint so far is the front part that is orange that holds the nails is made out of plastic.

Just tried it for the first time.. and .... nothing? The battery is fine, works great in other tools. The lights on the nailer come on and the motor starts when you press it against something then it tries to fire but just barely does and it sounds very weak. It will shoot a nail about 1/2" deep? Very disappointing, I was so pumped about this as I have lost a lot of respect for Ridgid Tools as of lately, and was hoping this would prove me wrong but it didn't. I bought the only one they had at the Homo Depot, and am afraid of buying another dud. If they don't have another one to trade out right then I'm probably going to get my money back and stick with my dewalt nailer.

Interesting initial observations. One battery? Uhhg. Nice to have lighter batteries to use w other tools. If they thought we have enough batteries from other tools then they shouldn't have bothered with the charger either. Caramba. Foiled. Re the tool not working out of the box, could be a one time dud. But yes, it does seem to happen w Ridgid, as three products I have bought or tried so far had prob out of box - X3 kit- defective bat & wobbly chuck and shop vac- seal leak and tried 12 v drill kit - battery stuck in tool.
One battery is typical for cordless nail guns.
I find it amazing that other people on these forums have a history of problems with ridgid tools when I've never had one that didn't perform exactly as it should. This includes many cordless kits, routers, ts2400, ts3660, and sanders.

I bought the nailer today. I played around with it, and noticed a few things.
If the depth dial is set to 1 it will sink the nail about 25% of the nail length. I was using 4 stacks of 7/16" OSB. Using MDF the nailer dial set to 1 only put the nail in about 50% of the nail length. I am not really sure why Ridgid bothered with this particular depth style? On the depth dial, anything under setting 4, does not do a whole lot.
Aside from that, anything above the setting 4 seems to work fine. The gun can keep up when it's in bump fire mode.

is this flywheel or solenoid?
What's the difference between the two? How do they operate and which design would be superior and why?
Thanks for the info.........Ray

I think he is refering to Solenoid as a Pneumatic style? The Flywheel version is what Ridgid chose, it is the same type as the Dewalt cordless versions. A flywheel spins then the piston is dropped into the wheel and that's the force that drives your nail.

Okay, so I had the chance to try one at the RoundUp, and then I went ahead and picked one up from HD on my way home, and I've had the chance to put one through the ringer. I'm actually on my 2nd one in less than a week. Here's the review:

Not too happy. This will be getting returned, and I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the next one/version is better. For the cordless convenience for me, I wish this was right, but it's not accurate/consistent enough for me.
Frustrating, because this puppy had/has potential.
