I am thinking of trying my hand at building cabinets. My router is a Milwaukee 5616-29 2.25 HP with variable speed 10000-24000 rpm. Is this router powerful enough/suitable for raised panel bits, etc? Will be for occasional projects only. So far I have used only for light duty work-edging,dados etc. and it seems plenty powerful.I am pretty much a router novice and any input is appreciated!
I don't know if it will be good at spinning a horizontal raised panel bit, but it should have no problem with a vertical raised panel bit.

It should handle occasional panel raising duties without too much stress. I use a Porter-Cable 690 variable speed and it handles 2 1/2 inch raised panel bits with no trouble at all. Never tried a larger diameter. I easily handles vertical bits.
