Alright... Finally got another chance to shoot a short vid of another microDrain Application. This time I am pushing the microDrain through a 1 1/2" cast iron P trap. The trap was nice and rusty too.

I did put a hard 90 at the top to simulate a tub overflow and was able to get it through the trap and out of the pipe but it was much harder. The 90 I put on had threads on it as well so it was really tricky trying to push past the threads and still get good leverage. Either way I was able to get through an extra 90 on this setup as well but it wasnt as quick as what I did in the video.

Also... its important to note the color of the cable. This was one of the prototype cables (same material as launch) but it doesnt have the red coloring in it to make it look like the rest of our cables.

Another Note. Using the tristand was tough because the NoHub joints flexed quite a bit making it harder to push through. Still got it through pretty easy.

Good test. Making it more desirable with every test.

On the one hand, I should be saving as much money as I can in case this recession starts hitting me.

On the other hand, that is really cool. :love2:

I have been washing my hands a lot lately. Most of the toilets I have put it down have been poo free... if dogs drink toilet water it cant be that dirty right ;)

Yeah.. its been fun to play with. I am looking forward to launching this one.

josh i hope you locked up my shop and turned off the lights before you left:rolleyes:

a word of caution, threaded pipe and fittings will shred the push rods.

when entering a tapped tee/ test tee:D, use a rag or i make a funnel to guard against scuffing.

in all the years, i've never had to repair a cable;)

i have 2 tomorrow to do and an indirect waste/ floor sinks under a "dive bar"

i hope you left it for me when you locked up;)

What about one of these?

Uhhh...

no.

Wouldn't chance it if I had to. Those are the types that are 90% clogged when you cable them, hardened mass and you find this out when you bring the cable back, find out that whatever you retrieved is now clogging the drain back up where you started out.
:speechless:

I'd be willing to try it if you wanted to send it to me.

josh, that's an old school "durham" trap. 1.5'' typical of bathtubs and old showers.

i doubt that even a brand new one would work. no less a used one full of rust.

even an electric k-39 can struggle with a clog in that trap.
