My washing machine drain overflows when it spins and drains. The line is clear and the vent is not clogged. What can I do to fix this? Please help.

If it overflows, we have to suspect that the drain is not clear. But newer machines do have strong pumps, and although codes today call for the WM standpipe and drain to be 2", plenty were built @ 1½" in years past. If that is the problem, there is not much you can do about it.
I assume you use a good low suds detergent, because sudsing can cause drain problems.

I will check on the detergent, and am double checking the pipes again.

Plastic? Galvanized or cast iron? A good cable cleaning is in order if this is a new problem.

I wish I would have taken a picture of it today, sorry.
Sewer problem unstopped.
Went to check the washing machine. The stub out for the washing machine was as high as the top of the washing machine. The top of the standpipe was as tall as me. :killingme:
Sorry no pic, hot outside today baked my brain.
