help! re: eb44240 belt sander

Nothing real technical here, just a lil problem.
I can't remove the belt sander assembly! Took off spindle knob and should just lift up - but it won't this time! Seems to be locked in somehow. Anyone have any suggestions - they would be greatly appreciated. Mitakuye Oyasin.

If your not pulling exactly strait up on the belt assembly it can bind on the shaft. I would suggest placing the unit on the floor and having someone hold it down as you pull straight upward.
