TS2410LS blade elevator sticking

Just got a TS2410LS table saw. Everything checks out perfect except that when raising and lowering the blade, it is really stubborn and makes a creaking sound like plastic is rubbing or binding somewhere. The gears look clean and I can't see any clearance issues. The blade height locking lever is plenty loose too so that is not it. Any tips would be appreciated. I can't see returning the saw over this as it is more a nuisance than a real problem but I'd think a brand new saw of this price should not have this issue.
